1K a year 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago A top tier childcare business with a great reputation, accommodating about 500 families and 150 employees in downtown Jersey City, NJ is looking for a Human Resource Manager.
Cultivating early learning for children from four months through first grade, the business is currently operating three facilities all at or near capacity, thereby opening possibilities of additional locations in the surrounding area.
The incumbent must be a self-starter and have the requisite skills to independently run all HR operations and be a part of the leadership team.
The focus of this role is on the key that makes our school function:
it's employees.
The HR Manager will report to the founder/owner, manage one direct report, and have oversight and influence over center directors, staff and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the human resources department including but not limited to recruitment, training and development, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance and policy development.
The HR Manager will provide counsel on a daily basis to the center directors, supporting them with the tools they need to succeed and give guidance to the owner.
This leadership position drives the quality and consistency of our staff experiences in our centers to maximize employee retention and ensure customer satisfaction.
This is a multi-unit role, as such remote work is not available.

Within this role you will:
Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Manage the full-cycle recruitment and selection process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees with a focus on retaining a diverse, qualified staff.
Develop and conduct training programs for staff, including new employee orientation and ongoing training sessions.
Provide guidance and support to managers and staff regarding employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary action.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including employment contracts, benefits enrollment, and attendance records.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Manage the employee benefits program, including enrollment, administration, and communication to staff.
Maintain a positive and engaging work environment that fosters employee engagement, teamwork, and productivity.
Ensure that all HR policies and procedures are communicated effectively to staff and are applied consistently across the organization.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR reports and metrics to monitor and evaluate HR performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Strong business acumen:
ability to drive results in line with company strategy Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management and in a professional manner.
Leadership experience in a customer and talent focused environment A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and other HR-related software.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
