Will be responsible for managing store front Assisting Mulesoft integration team with Shopify connections Configure connections with different internal applications Perform custom configurations within shopify Troubleshoot and maintain platform We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shopify Engineer to join our client's team and take charge of the storefront maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration for their e-commerce platform.
As a Shopify Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the online store, enhancing customer experience, and maximizing sales potential.
Responsibilities:
Storefront Maintenance:
Regularly monitor and maintain the Shopify storefront to ensure optimal performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across different devices and browsers.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve technical issues related to the storefront promptly, including but not limited to website errors, checkout problems, payment gateways, and other functionality issues.
Configuration and Customization:
Collaborate with the development team to configure and customize Shopify themes, templates, and plugins to align with our branding and design requirements.
E-commerce Tax Setup:
Preferably, the candidate will have experience with Avalara Tax or other e-commerce tax tools, and be responsible for setting up and managing tax configurations to ensure compliance with tax regulations in various jurisdictions.
Integration:
Integrate third-party applications and tools to enhance the functionality of the e-commerce platform, such as email marketing services, analytics, inventory management, and shipping solutions.
Performance Optimization:
Continuously analyze website performance metrics and implement strategies to improve page load times, conversion rates, and overall user experience.
Security and Backup:
Ensure the security and integrity of the storefront by implementing appropriate security measures and performing regular backups.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, customizations, and troubleshooting procedures to assist the team in future maintenance and improvements.
Stay Up-to-date:
Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in Shopify development and e-commerce industry to suggest innovative solutions and improvements.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Shopify Engineer or similar role with a strong portfolio of successful Shopify projects.
In-depth knowledge of Shopify platform, Liquid template language, and theme development.
Familiarity with e-commerce tax setups, preferably experience with Avalara Tax or other tax management tools.
Proficiency in web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
Experience with debugging and troubleshooting technical issues related to e-commerce platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and website analytics tools is a plus.
