Here's what we're looking for.As Principal Engineer, Small Business you will define and execute the strategy for Chubb Small Business technology. You will partner closely with Business & Technology leaders and oversee multiple squads of Engineers ensuring all follow best practices to develop and deliver modern engineering practices that drive high-quality and resilient business solutions. Leveraging your proficiency in insurance practices and products well as architecture background, design thinking, thought leadership, change orientation, strong relationship management and effective communication capabilities, you will work across all layers of the technology stack including multiple policy admin platforms and front-end technologies inclusive of APIs and middleware. In this role, you willCreate and maintain engineering best practices, guardrails and standardsPartner with business and technology leaders to ensure optimal outcomes and transparencyIdentify and build support for technical initiatives that address the Small Business needsProvide technical leadership, solution design, communication and direction to foster a team environment, and provide mentorship and feedback to technical resourcesFoster a culture of innovation and ensure the best use of resources by aligning and building strategic and collaborative relationships with key leaders across the organizationBe accountable for the quality of engineering deliverables from the relevant agile teams working on the Auto product and systems across the North America Small Business/Lower Middle Market groupLead technical hiring for new members of the Small Business technology team inclusive of US, India, and Mexico locationsDevelop a robust talent pipeline, seeking opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities of the engineering community through learning plans and skill development in alignment of workforce needs and industry trendsPrepare and deliver formal presentations on delivery status and recommendations for business and technology leadershipAct as a change agent and SME for other engineers to become effective in an agile-based operating modelKeep on top of industry technology trends, advancements and best practices

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related fieldExpert level knowledge in software design patterns, performance optimization, user interface and agile software developmentAt least 12 years of insurance background; experience in Personal or Commercial lines products and systems implementation requiredAt least 8 years of experience delivering complex insurance products and capabilities for multiple lines of business on a modern vendor system such as Duck Creek, Guidewire, Majesco, DXC, Origami Risk, BriteCore, etc.At least 6 years of hands-on experience as a full-stack engineer working with technologies such as .NET, Java, Angular, IIS, SQL Server, MongoDB, Kafka, HTML, XML, CSS, XSLT, etc.Knowledge of Microservices & API Mgmt., Java Script Frameworks such as Angular, and Cloud Platforms such as Microsoft Azure is preferredStrong vendor management and vendor relationships experience to understand how the tooling and services Marketplace will continuously evolveExperience in enabling agile transformation/implementation in medium to large projects/programs is requiredIn Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $146,500 to $240,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
