Technical Manager

Technical Managers are tasked to work with their counterparts in the other business and content verticals to insure compatibility across all aspects of our websites, compliancy to all in-house developments standards, optimization of development and efficiencies based on understanding and communicating the various application and architecture requirements for their verticals.
The Technical
manager
will manage project development teams within the technical department as well as externally as necessary with application vendors, contractors or partner companies. This
position
works closely with their Director of Technology to be the point person on the specific details of each project, allowing their Director of Technology to concentrate on the project architecture and wider picture integration across projects and across the entirety of all sites.

Requirements
This position works for the Director of Technology for a specific vertical to manage project development teams for that vertical. The candidate must be very conversant with the technology in use and the progress made on those projects. They need to be able to meet with product and project owners on a continuing basis to help form and direct the product development.

Responsibilities of the Position
Maintain, manage and take responsibility for the various platforms and applications
Manage technical projects for all a particular vertical, including those hosted by third-party vendors
Give status reports and update schedule of current projects
Coordinate work between internal developers, freelance developers and vendors
Be a technical point of contact for vendors
Work closely with the product group at Advance Digital on development projects
Attend meetings to gather requirements and learn about projects/product updates across all departments
Apprise other development verticals of issues, requirements and needs for upcoming and ongoing projects
Schedule matrixed work for other verticals
Maintain wiki to document development updates
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Development skills and experience in web software development
Project management or rapid development management experience in web software development agile methodology
A blend of good technical knowledge skillset with critical thinking skills
Fast learners who will come up to speed quickly on internal and integrated technologies
Linux/UNIX and ability to work on the command line
JavaScript/Jquery
HTML 5
CVS/SVN or version control
Database familiarity
Experience with Apache log file analysis
Knowledge of cookies, including issues such as P3P
Regular Expressions
SEO knowledge
Technical Specifications/Requirements Documentation writing
Excellent oral and written communications
Microsoft Office
MVC frameworks, Django or other Python framework preferred
Desired Skills/Experience
Python a plus
Email marketing and e-newsletter experience
Work with public API's
Some PERL
Feeds manipulation
Minimum
job
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred. 4 years of commensurate experience considered, and 2 years of professional work experience.
Must be a US citizen or have green card to apply.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
