E TRADE Financial Corporation has openings for Sr. Manager - Operations Research positions in Jersey City, New Jersey. Provide timely, relevant and actionable information to the Operations Management team to permit decision making, policy formulation and other managerial functions. Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods using a computer to produce reporting that measures operations performance indicators and assists management team in producing metrics that demonstrate the operations strategic value to the company. Develop innovative methods for measuring operations effectiveness and efficiency. Compile daily and periodic operations reports in line and for senior management that provide unit volumes, productivity and service issues. Ensure that statistical reports produced are accurate, relevant, complete and actionable. Learn best practices, generate and drive initiatives back through the business. Integrate disparate business data from multiple data sources. Proactively handle escalations and provide resolutions. Create and implement robust business management system that enables frontline performance management via timely feedback and coaching. Implement Rapid Response capability to handle unforeseen events and crisis. Work with IT to streamline frontline user interface to support process improvements. Maintain productive working relationships with all functions. Prepare and manage internal communications. Enhance and develop new applications using Oracle database, MS-Access. Enhance and maintain distributed applications written in Microsoft VB, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, SQL Server and Microsoft Access. Develop adhoc reports to business using PC-based applications to extract data from either distributed or mainframe dataset and format resulting in Excel/PowerPoint or Acrobat files. Analyze productivity and service metrics to determine staffing targets. Help implement customer satisfaction metrics. Measure service effectiveness by benchmarks and internal goals. Analyze operational processes for inefficiencies and potential redundancies. Manage a team of 3-5 associates in the US and in Manila. The applicant will supervise Lead Business Analysts.
Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Research, Statistics, Math or related field; and 5 years of work experience in job offered or 5 years of work experience in a mathematical or computer analysis-related occupation. Employer will accept three or four year bachelors degree. Experience must include: 1. financial/accounting analytical skills including analyzing the cost per unit of operational functions and reporting on monthly operations budget and highlight variances; 2. running day-to-day business without interruptions, developing new reports and moving to production, as well as providing feedback and developing skill sets; 3. analyzing vendor invoices to ensure back up support and variances; 4. providing forecasting and what if scenarios for operations planning; and 5. analyzing industry utility usage, including the components of service in analyzing efficiencies, financial variances, and service.
